Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for night shift in a high-volume birthing center. Requires 2+ years in L&D, active CO or compact RN license, and BLS/ACLS/NRP certifications. AWHONN Intermediate is required; Advanced preferred. Strong neonatal care and high-risk delivery skills are essential.

Night shifts are 3x12 hours (7:00 PM–7:00 AM) with weekend on-call and cross-unit coverage as needed. Magnet-designated facility with travel-friendly policies.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (CO or Compact) currently in hand.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NRP.
• AWHONN Intermediate certification required; AWHONN Advanced preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required.
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred.
• Skilled in high-risk delivery assistance, C-section circulation, and vaginal delivery support.
• Experience with fetal monitoring including EFM, spiral electrode placement, and IUPC placement and calibration.
• Experience caring for patients with high-risk conditions such as pre-eclampsia, HELLP syndrome, placenta previa, and preterm labor.
• Experience with medication administration including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of a Birthing Center, averaging 100-200 births per month.
• Unit has 16 staffed beds with a 1:3 patient ratio.
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts (19:00-7:00), various days of the week.
• Required to work every third weekend.
• On-call required per unit needs.
• Floating required within scope to meet facility needs, including to like units and sister facilities within the North region.
• Epic charting system used.
• Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum stages.
• Assist with neonatal care in the delivery room including APGAR scoring and neonatal resuscitation.
• Support postpartum recovery including couplet care, lactation support, and wound assessment.

• Previous UCHealth employees must disclose name used during employment for eligibility verification
• Local candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are accepted
