American Traveler is seeking an experienced Labor and Delivery RN for night shift in California. Must hold CA RN license and AWHONN Advanced certification. Epic charting experience required with 2+ years in Labor & Delivery/Antepartum.

Role includes 24-bed L&D unit, 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio, 3x12 hour nights, and float to Post Partum and Nursery. Generous housing allowance and travel/licensure reimbursements are offered.

Responsabilidades

• Labor and Delivery unit with 24 beds and 150-180 births per month.
• 1:2 staffing ratio caring for neonates, adolescents, and adults.
• Night shift schedule: 19:00–07:30 (3x12h).
• Float to Post Partum and Nursery units as needed.
• Weekend work: 5–6 shifts per 6 weeks; on-call 1 shift every 2 weeks.
• Unit systems include Omnicell, Epic, and SBAR documentation.
• Provide comprehensive antepartum, labor, delivery, and postpartum care.
• Perform sterile vaginal exams, NSTs, and fetal monitoring (EFM/IUPC).
• Assist with pain management including epidural and nitrous oxide.

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor and Delivery RN for a night shift position requiring CA RN licensure and AWHONN Advanced certification.

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, BLS, NRP, and FHM
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery/Antepartum experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Skilled in circulating, triage, and recovering C-section patients
• Experience with newborn care, Magnesium Sulfate, Pitocin, and SVE
• Competency in postpartum care, heel stick, hyperbilirubinemia management (TCB/TSB), and discharge instructions
• Experience with car seat education, blood transfusion, and circumcision care/assist
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and administration of blood and blood products

Responsibilities

• Labor and Delivery unit with 24 beds and 150-180 births per month
• 1:2 staffing ratio caring for neonates, adolescents, and adults
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-07:30)
• Float required to Post Partum and Nursery units
• Weekend requirement of 5-6 shifts per 6-week period
• On-call requirement of 1 shift per 2 weeks
• Schedules built 6 weeks at a time with no block scheduling
• Unit systems include Omnicell, Epic, and SBAR documentation
• Scrubs provided
• Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum phases
• Perform sterile vaginal exams, NSTs, and fetal monitoring including EFM and IUPC placement
• Support pain management including epidural anesthesia and nitrous oxide administration
• Assist with neonatal resuscitation and care in the delivery room, including thermoregulation and radiant warmers
• Provide VBAC management and trial of labor support
• Support breastfeeding and lactation, including use of electric/manual breast pumps
