Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery assignment in Oklahoma. The ideal candidate holds a compact or OK RN license and brings at least 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience.

The position is night shift from 18:30 to 07:00 on a 13‑week assignment, with up to 6 weekend shifts and holiday coverage as needed. You will monitor maternal and fetal vitals, assist with deliveries, coordinate care with the team, and support discharge planning and postpartum

Qualifications

• Active RN license (Compact or OK) currently in hand.
• Minimum of 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience required.
• Current BLS certification (AHA) required.
• NRP certification (AHA) preferred.
• Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start.
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, stressful environment.

Responsibilities

• Hospital-based Labor and Delivery unit care for expectant mothers and newborns.
• Night shift schedule from 18:30 to 07:00.
• 13-week assignment length.
• Up to 6 weekend shifts required based on department needs.
• Holiday coverage required as needed per department needs.
• Provide direct nursing care including monitoring maternal and fetal vital signs, pain management, and assisting with vaginal or surgical deliveries.
• Serve as primary coordinator across disciplines to ensure well-coordinated patient care.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans while communicating changes in patient condition.
• Assess and coordinate discharge planning needs with the healthcare team.
• Educate families on postpartum recovery.
• Follow Standard Precautions using appropriate personal protective equipment.
• Radius rules apply and may affect pay rate for local candidates.
• First-time travelers may be considered.
