Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a 12-hour night shift assignment in Washington. WA or compact RN licensure, BLS/ACLS, and travel experience are required.

The role covers ACU/CCU in a 226-bed hospital, with ICU and telemetry patients. You will manage drips, chest tube care, wound care, and femoral sheath monitoring using EPIC EMR. Shifts are 1900-0730 or 0700-1930, 36 hours/week, with every-other-weekend rotation.

Qualifications

• Active WA or compact RN license required.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Minimum 2 years ICU experience.
• Must have completed at least one prior travel assignment.
• Art line, Impella, and/or IABP experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work in the ACU/CCU unit of a 226-bed non-profit community hospital with 11 ICU beds.
• Unit cares for a mix of ICU and telemetry-level patients.
• Patient population includes CHF, respiratory distress, ACS, A-fib RVR, DM, post-cath patients, and some surgical patients (vascular, abdominal, GI).
• Manages drips including diltiazem, amiodarone, Lasix, nitro, and heparin.
• Performs chest tube care, wound vac management, dressing changes, and monitoring of femoral arterial sheaths.
• Travelers will not pull femoral sheaths.
• Uses EPIC EMR.
• 12-hour night shifts, with shift times of 1900-0730 or 0700-1930.
• 36 hours per week
• Weekend rotation required every other weekend
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required at the ICU level or below throughout the hospital
• Provide critical care nursing support across a combined ICU/telemetry unit
• Scrubs of any professional color are acceptable
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position.
