Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an ICU RN for a 13-week night shift assignment in Idaho. The role requires 1 year of ICU experience, active RN license (ID or Compact), and the ability to titrate drips. BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications are required.

You will work in a 10-bed ICU with a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio and support from Hospitalists and Intensivists. The position includes night shifts (7p–7a), weekend and holiday coverage as needed, and potential float to Tele and other ICUs.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (ID or Compact) required.
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required.
• Must be a strong team player.
• Driver's license required for consideration.
• Two professional references required: one supervisor within the last 12 months, and one peer or supervisor within the last 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Acute care setting in a 10-bed ICU.
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2.
• Titrate drips (Propofol, Levophed, Dobutamine, Vasopressin, Fentanyl, Epinephrine, Diltiazem).
• Read telemetry strips (Spacelabs) without tele tech support.
• Night shift schedule, 7p–7a (12-hour shifts).
• Weekend and holiday coverage as needed; no on-call requirements.
• Float to Tele unit and possibly to Meridian/Boise ICUs.
• 14/7 access to Hospitalist, Intensivist via telehealth, Respiratory Therapists, Crisis nurse.
• Provide direct patient care in a high-acuity ICU setting.

American Traveler is hiring an ICU RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring 1 year of ICU experience and drip titration skills.

Requirements

• Active RN license (State or Compact) required, must be ID or compact eligible
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required
• Must be a strong team player
• Driver's license required for consideration
• Two professional references required: one supervisor reference from within the last 12 months worked, and one peer or supervisor reference from within the last 3 years worked, both including employment dates and rehire eligibility

Responsibilities

• Acute care setting in a 10-bed Intensive Care Unit
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2
• Common diagnoses include heart failure, respiratory failure, sepsis, vented patients, GI bleeds, strokes, TPA, and post-code patients
• Night shift schedule, 7p-7a, 12-hour shifts
• Weekend rotation as needed, aiming for every other weekend
• Holiday coverage as needed
• No call or standby requirements
• Float requirement to Tele unit (aiming for 1:3 ratio, may take full assignment) and possibly to Meridian and Boise ICUs
• Uses EPIC EMR
• RNs required to titrate drips including Propofol, Levophed, Dobutamine, Vasopressin, Fentanyl, Epinephrine, and Diltiazem
• RNs required to read telemetry strips (Spacelabs) as there are no dedicated tele techs
• 24/7 support available from Hospitalist onsite, Intensivist via telehealth, Respiratory Therapists, Admin Supervisor, and Crisis nurse
• 1 CNA per shift
• 1 to 2 shifts of unit-specific orientation depending on experience
• Provide direct patient care in a high-acuity ICU setting
• Charge nurse does not carry a patient assignment
• Scrub color is flexible as long as attire is clean and professional
• No blocked scheduling or special scheduling requests accepted
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Former permanent employees of the facility must wait at least one year before applying for a travel assignment
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
