Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is hiring an experienced RN - ICU Critical Care Float for a night shift position at a Magnet-designated teaching hospital in Seattle. Requires 2+ years ICU experience and prior travel assignment history.

Responsibilities include covering Surgical ICU, Cardiac ICU, Cardiothoracic ICU, and Medical ICU/BMT-Oncology units with 1:1 to 1:2 ratios. Epic EMR is used; weekend work and limited RTO apply.

Qualifications

• Active WA or compact RN license required.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; CCRN preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience including cardiac, neuro, and general ICU skills.
• Prior travel assignment experience required.
• Epic charting experience required.

Responsibilities

• Critical Care Float pool covering Surgical ICU, Cardiac ICU, Cardiothoracic ICU, and Medical ICU/Bone Marrow Transplant-Oncology ICU units, plus a mutually agreed Med-Surg department.
• Patient ratios range from 1:1 to 1:2.
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30).
• Weekend requirement.
• Floating within the hospital required; no floating to sister hospitals.
• No call requirements.
• Uses Epic EMR.
• Located at a Magnet-designated teaching hospital with 637 staffed beds.
• Any color scrubs accepted; scrubs provided for OR personnel.
• RTO limited to 1 week maximum, with coverage of 2 of 3 major holidays required.
• RTO cannot be requested during the first 2 weeks of assignment.
• Prior UW staff must have an 18-month separation before returning as a traveler.
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position.
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no radius restriction.

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; CCRN preferred
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required, including cardiac, neuro, and general ICU skills
• Prior travel assignment experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Skills required in ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, ABG interpretation, and ETT/NT suctioning
• Skills required in titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips and continuous IV sedation
• Skills required in dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and cardiac monitoring/emergency response
• Skills required in IV therapy, PICC line management, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Skills preferred in EVD and ICP monitoring, post neurosurgery management, and TAVR care
• Two references required, preferably supervisory
• COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions
