Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is hiring an experienced ICU Registered Nurse for a night shift position in Georgia. The role requires strong critical care skills and a patient ratio of 1:2-3 in an ICU with 24 beds. You will work 3x12 hour nights (7:00 PM–7:00 AM) and may float as needed within the facility.

The ideal candidate has GA or Compact RN licensure, at least 2 years ICU experience, and current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications. TNCC is preferred, and supervisory references are required.

Qualifications

• Active GA or Compact RN license required.
• Minimum 2 years ICU experience required.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required; TNCC preferred.
• Ventilated patient care, HFNC, ETT/NT suctioning, IV therapy, and central line care required.
• CVA/stroke management experience required.
• Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation experience required.
• CVVHD/CRRT experience preferred.
• Two supervisory references (Manager level or above) required.

Responsibilities

• ICU setting with 24 beds and daily census around 19.
• Care for adult to geriatric patients with diverse critical diagnoses.
• Maintain 1:2-3 patient ratio; night shift 19:00–07:00.
• Night shift 3x12 hours; every other weekend required.
• Floating within facility as needed and per scope of practice.
• Use Pyxis and Epic systems.
• Provide critical care to a diverse ICU population; first-time travelers welcome.
• Comply with travel-specific requirements and holiday coverage as needed.

• Experience with ventilated patients, HFNC, ETT/NT suctioning, IV therapy, and central line care/management required
• Experience with CVA/acute stroke management required
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management required
• Post cardiac surgery care experience preferred
• Post neurosurgery management experience preferred
• CVVHD/CRRT experience preferred
• Two supervisory references (Manager level or above) required

Responsibilities

• ICU setting with 24 beds and an average daily census of 19
• Adult to geriatric patient population with diagnoses including ARDS, sepsis, stroke, STEMI, DKA, cardiogenic shock, GIB, COPD exacerbation, encephalopathy, liver failure, and ESRD on CRRT
• Patient ratio of 1:2-3, with possibility of a third patient
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:00)
• Every other weekend required unless otherwise specified
• Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed
• Uses Pyxis and Epic systems
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Provide critical care nursing to a diverse ICU patient population with complex diagnoses
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, finalized at time of submission
• No RTO requests permitted during orientation week
• Holiday coverage required: if 1-2 major holidays fall during the assignment, both must be worked; if 3 major holidays fall during the assignment, 2 must be worked
• Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, and New Year's Eve/Day
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Travel pairs are not permitted on the same unit or shift
• Previous Piedmont permanent, PRN, or internal staff must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before applying as a traveler
• Returning travelers who were cancelled or deemed unable to return must complete one successful assignment outside Piedmont before reapplying
