Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a night shift assignment in Georgia. The successful candidate will have 2+ years of ICU experience and ventilator management skills to care for adult and geriatric patients, including sepsis, post-TPA, and respiratory failure.

Shift is 3x12 hours (18:45–07:15) with every other weekend and facility-wide floating as needed. Active GA or Compact RN license, BLS, ACLS, NIHSS are required; CCRN preferred. First-time travelers welcome.

Qualifications

• Active GA or Compact RN license required.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required; CCRN preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Medical ICU experience required
• Ventilator management experience required
• Experience caring for patients with sepsis, cardiac arrest, respiratory failure, vent/trach management, DKA, dialysis, post-TPA stroke, COVID, cardiogenic shock, and surgical cases
• Skills in respiratory/thoracic care, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and cardiovascular care required
• Pulmonary artery line/Swan Ganz monitoring experience preferred
• Copies of all required certifications needed for consideration

Responsibilities

• ICU with IMCU overlap
• Patient ratio of 1:2-3
• Adult to geriatric patient population
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (18:45-07:15)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required within facility and to sister campus as needed
• Uses Pyxis, EPIC, and SBAR charting/communication systems
• Provide critical care nursing to a mixed ICU/IMCU adult and geriatric population
• Candidates will undergo a clinical screen to determine fit before being presented to the hiring manager
• Maximum of 7 days RTO per contract, which must be finalized at time of submission
• No RTO requests permitted after offer/onsite or during orientation week
• Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
• Former Piedmont perm, PRN, or internal staff must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before applying as a traveler
• Returning travelers who were cancelled or not approved to return must complete one assignment outside Piedmont before reapplying
