Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a Trauma ICU in Houston. The role requires a TX or compact RN license and current BLS/ACLS/NIHSS certifications, plus at least one year of ICU experience and critical care training.

The position operates 7A-7P on a 13-week assignment with a 1:2 patient ratio. Expect Meditech Expanse EMR use, CRRT/ventilators, arterial lines, and a need to float to MICU/TICU/ICC as required. Royal blue scrubs and strict attendance are required.

Qualifications

• Active TX or compact RN license required.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
• Minimum 1 year of recent ICU experience required.
• Critical care training required.
• Experience with pressor medication management and arterial line management.

Responsibilities

• Trauma ICU setting with 10 beds and 28 staff members.
• Day shift staffed with 1 CNC and 5 nurses; night shift staffed with 1 CNC and 5 nurses.
• Patient ratio of 1:2.
• Uses CRRT, ventilators, MTP, Hemosphere monitors, arterial lines, and TTM equipment.
• Meditech Expanse EMR used.
• 13-week assignment with 7A-7P schedule.
• Floating to MICU, TICU, and ICC as needed.
• Perform critical care nursing duties including bronchoscopy management and CVC/art line insertions.
• Adhere to unit attendance policy and scheduling commitments.
• Royal blue scrubs required per dress code.

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of recent ICU experience required
• Critical care training required
• Experience with pressor medication management, arterial line management, and critical drip management required
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration (no Canadian SSN accepted)
• One professional reference required
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Responsibilities

• Trauma ICU (STICU) setting with 10 beds and 28 staff members
• Day shift staffed with 1 CNC and 5 nurses; night shift staffed with 1 CNC and 5 nurses
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Uses CRRT, ventilators, MTP, Hemosphere monitors, arterial lines, and TTM equipment

• Required to work 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule period

• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; no local candidates accepted
