American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a CVICU position at an academic Level I Trauma Center in New Jersey.

Active NJ or Compact RN license and at least 2 years of CVICU experience are required; ACS/BLS/NIHSS certifications are also required, with stroke CEUs preferred. Expect a challenging environment with post‑op cardiac cases (CABG, MVR, AVR, TAVR) and use of Impella, IABP, and CRRT devices.

• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
• 2 years of recent CVICU experience required; SICU experience may be considered if initial CVICU training was completed.
• Experience with fresh post‑op cardiac cases including CABG, MVR, AVR, and TAVR required.
• Experience with Impella, IABP, and CRRT using PrisMax required.
• Skilled in arterial line management, central/PICC line care, blood product administration, and IV therapy.
• Experience with continuous IV paralytics, sedation, and vasoactive drip titration required.
• Respiratory skills including ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, ABG interpretation, and suctioning.
• Cardiovascular skills including 12‑lead EKG, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and FloTrac/Vigileo monitoring.
• Renal and neurological skills including CRRT/CVVHD, CVA/stroke management, and hypothermia protocol.
• Prior charge nurse experience preferred.
• At least one supervisory reference required for consideration.

• Work in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) of an academic Level I Trauma Center.
• Care for patients including fresh post‑op cardiac surgery cases (CABG, MVR, AVR, TAVR).
• Unit cares for patients needing cardiac surgery, heart transplantation, VADs, TAVR, ECMO.
• Patient ratios of 1:1 to 1:2+ depending on acuity.
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM.
• Every other weekend required; holidays 1 of 2 or 2 of 3 per unit needs.
• Floating within skillset to other ICUs as needed.
• EPIC charting system experience required.
• Navy blue scrubs required.
• Provide critical care nursing for post‑cardiac surgery and cardiovascular ICU patients with multisystem needs.
• Participate in advanced procedures such as temporary pacers, lumbar drains, and procedural sedation monitoring.
• Work within a Heart, Vascular and Thoracic program accredited as a Comprehensive Cardiac Center.
• Facility may call off up to 1 shift per 2 weeks based on census.
• First‑time travelers welcome; local candidates accepted.

• Unit cares for patients requiring cardiac surgery, heart transplantation, ventricular assist devices, TAVR, and ECMO
• Patient ratios of 1:1 to 1:2+ depending on acuity and census
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Every other weekend required
• Must work 1 of 2 or 2 of 3 holidays per unit needs
• Floating required within skillset to all ICUs, PACU ICU holds, ED ICU holds, and Cardiac IMC units
• EPIC charting system experience required
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Provide critical care nursing to post‑cardiac surgery and cardiovascular ICU patients with complex, multisystem needs
• Participate in advanced procedures such as temporary pacers, lumbar drains, and procedural sedation monitoring
• Work within a comprehensive Heart, Vascular and Thoracic program accredited as a Comprehensive Cardiac Center
• Facility may call off up to 1 shift per 2 weeks based on census
• First‑time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travel candidates
• Former employees of the health system must be separated for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
