Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU assignment at an academic medical center in Missouri. You will care for CVICU patients, perform post-cardiac surgery and cath care, and use Epic for charting.

1:2 patient ratio and day shifts 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, every other weekend, with no on-call requirements. Requirements include active MO or Compact RN license, ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and 2+ years in CVICU with Impella and IABP management.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring Impella and IABP experience plus an active MO or compact RN license.

Requirements

• Active RN license (MO or Compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• CPI certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a staff RN in CVICU
• Required skills: Impella and IABP management
• Preferred skills: ECMO, sheath removal, TAVR, LVAD/RVAD, EVD, and chemotherapy administration
• Epic charting experience required
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Responsibilities

• Work in the Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) at an academic medical center
• 1:2 patient ratio in the CVICU
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required within scope to ICU, TCU, and all care areas, including ED for ICU/TCU admit holds
• Uses Epic for charting
• Provide critical care nursing to cardiovascular ICU patients, including pre/post cardiac surgery and cardiac catheterization/intervention care
• Facility is a 356-bed non-profit academic medical center affiliated with a university school of medicine
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Onsite parking available at no cost
• Must be willing to shave for respirator fit testing; facility does not allow CAPRs or PAPRs for travelers with no exceptions
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates within 70 miles of the facility are not accepted
• RTO requests must be submitted with the application; additional requests after confirmation are at manager's discretion
• Clinicians cannot work past 1 year as a traveler at this facility and must take a 6-month break before returning
