Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced RN for a CVICU travel assignment in a 16-bed cardiovascular ICU within a hospital setting. You will manage complex cardiac patients with advanced monitoring and devices.

The role requires active RN license (TN or compact), BLS/ACLS, and at least 2 years of critical care experience including CVICU exposure. Expect a 13-week shift pattern, with weekend and holiday coverage, and a travel-friendly housing allowance.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (TN or compact) required.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience required.
• Strong critical care experience, including CVICU experience required.
• Skills with PA catheter and hemodynamic monitoring required.
• Experience with IABP, Impella, and CRRT preferred.
• Experience with central line insertion, swan insertion, and intubations on unit.
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration.
• No Canadian SSN accepted.
• One professional reference required.
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months.

Responsibilities

• 16-bed Cardiovascular ICU within a hospital setting.
• Patient ratios of 1:2, with 1:1 for certain device patients.
• Unit supported by a free-floating charge nurse, unit secretary, administrative care tech (M-F 0730-1530), and student nurse externs.
• Uses Philips bedside telemetry monitors, Hill-Rom beds, and Alaris IV pumps.
• Documentation system is Meditech.
• 13-week assignment with a 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM shift schedule.
• Requires working 2 weekends per month.
• Holiday coverage required for 1 summer holiday and 2 winter holidays.
• Floating required, typically to other ICUs but may include other floors.
• Provide post-operative care to cardiac surgery patients, including ECMO, Centrimags, and HM3 LVAD patients.
• Perform central line insertion, swan insertion, and intubations on the unit.
• Unit supported by 5 full-time surgeons performing high-volume, advanced cardiac surgeries.
• Intensivist assigned to the unit 24/7.
• Unit recognized as an HCA Unit of Distinction Award winner and Daisy Award recipient.
• Required dress code: black, red, or galaxy blue scrubs with scrub jackets/vests only.
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted.
