Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU assignment in the United States. This travel role requires CVICU expertise, post-open heart recovery skills, and current NJ/Compact RN licensure.

Responsibilities include night shifts (3x12), floating to ICU/IMC/Ridgewood units, and managing ECMO/IABP/Impella patient care with strict infection control and PPE adherence.

Qualifications

• Active NJ or Compact RN license.
• ACLS and BLS certifications on file.
• Minimum 2 years CVICU experience required.
• Experience with post open heart recovery, IABP, and Impella required.
• ECMO and CRRT experience preferred.
• Travel nursing experience with clean record.
• Nursys license verification required.
• COVID-19 vaccination series and booster completed.
• Supervisor/manager reference dated within one year.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) of a hospital.
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30.
• Floating to ICU, IMC, and Ridgewood Observation Unit as needed.
• Provide critical care nursing for post-cardiac surgery, catheterization, and TAVR patients.
• Care for patients on ECMO, IABP, and Impella support.
• Monitor pulmonary artery lines and perform sheath removals.
• Manage patients requiring CRRT.
• Administer continuous IV sedation and procedural sedation with monitoring.
• Follow hypothermia protocol/arctic sun procedures as needed.
• Practice infection prevention and PPE protocols.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring post open heart fresh case recovery skills and prior travel nursing experience.

Requirements

• Active NJ or Compact RN license
• Current certifications: ACLS and BLS
• Minimum 2 years of CVICU experience required
• Experience with post open heart fresh case recovery, IABP, and Impella required
• ECMO and CRRT experience strongly preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience required with no history of clinical or professional cancellations
• Skilled in arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration
• Skilled in ventilator management, ABG interpretation, BiPAP/CPAP management, and suctioning
• Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Experience with CVVHD/CRRT and IV insulin protocols
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and management
• Must successfully pass a Basic Arrhythmia Exam with a minimum score of 80%, no retakes permitted
• Proof of completed COVID-19 vaccination series and booster required
• One supervisory/manager reference dated within one year of assignment start required
• Current Nursys license verification required

Responsibilities

• Work in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) of a hospital environment
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30
• Floating required to ICU, IMC, and helping hands as needed, as well as to the Ridgewood Observation Unit
• Preferred experience with Meditech charting system
• Provide comprehensive critical care nursing for post-cardiac surgery, cardiac catheterization, and TAVR patients
• Care for patients on ECMO, IABP, and Impella support
• Monitor pulmonary artery lines/Swan Ganz and perform sheath removals as needed
• Manage patients with acute/chronic renal failure requiring CRRT
• Administer continuous IV sedation and procedural sedation with monitoring
• Follow hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun procedures as needed
• Practice infection prevention and isolation precautions/PPE protocols
• Prior permanent employees of the facility are not eligible for this travel assignment
• Local candidates within 75 miles are accepted at the local rate
• Candidates must reside within 75 miles of the facility for local rate consideration
