American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced Cardiovascular ICU RN for an upcoming travel assignment. The 19-bed CVICU unit provides high-acuity post-operative care for open-heart surgery patients, with a 1:2 nurse-patient ratio and diverse cardiac diagnoses.

This role requires active PA license, BLS/ACLS, and 2+ years CVICU experience. Shifts are day hours, 7:00 AM–7:30 PM, with every third weekend and potential travel for clearance; local candidates within 50 miles considered with

Qualifications

• Active PA or compact RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of strong CVICU experience required
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Strong dysrhythmia interpretation and management experience required
• Experience managing multisystem organ dysfunction/failure required
• 12-lead EKG/ECG experience required
• CABG and post-cardiac surgery experience required
• Pre/post cardiac catheterization and intervention experience required
• Central venous pressure and Swan-Ganz/Pulmonary Artery Line monitoring experience required
• Epicardial pacing wire management experience required
• Impella and IABP experience required
• CRRT/CVVHD and acute/chronic renal failure management experience required
• Arterial line, central line, PICC, and blood product administration experience required
• Continuous IV sedation, neuromuscular blockade, emergency medication, and procedural sedation experience required
• Cardiac and vasoactive drip titration experience required
• BiPAP/CPAP, mechanical ventilation, HFNC, ABG interpretation, and suctioning experience required
• Experience with ECMO circuits, intra-aortic balloon pumps, Impella, CRRT, mechanical ventilators, Swan-Ganz catheters, invasive arterial pressure monitoring, temporary pacemakers, and chest drainage systems required
• Epic charting experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Valid state license or certification required at time of consideration
• Two valid professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required

Responsabilités

• Cardiovascular ICU setting providing immediate post-operative open-heart surgery care and high-acuity cardiac critical care
• 19-bed unit with an average daily census of approximately 15 patients
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Common diagnoses include post-op CABG, valve repair/replacement, aortic aneurysm/dissection, cardiogenic shock, acute MI, acute heart failure, respiratory failure, and cardiac arrhythmias
• Cares for patients requiring advanced mechanical circulatory support
• Day shift, 4x12 hours, 7:00 AM-7:30 PM
• Every third weekend required, approximately 4 weekend shifts per contract
• Floating to MICU or STU/NEU may be required based on facility needs
• No on-call requirements
• Self-scheduling used; no block scheduling available
• Uses Epic charting system
• Provide critical care nursing to high-acuity cardiac patients recovering from cardiovascular surgery and interventions
• Orientation is approximately 36 hours
• PA fingerprints and Childline clearance required, which may require travel over 100 miles and up to 2-4 weeks for processing
• Lab work must be completed within 48 hours of signing
• Pass/fail competency exam required for clinical clearance, with up to 3 attempts allowed
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this role
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Accepts local candidates within a 50-mile radius at a local rate differential
• RTO must be submitted at time of consideration; no additional time off accepted after that point
