Job summary

CommuniCare Health Center Careers is seeking a Medical Assistant to support front and back office operations, administer injections, and assist in basic patient care. You will collect histories, vital signs, and ensure documentation aligns with quality metrics across our health centers.

The role requires a High School/GED; 1+ year MA experience and BLS certification. Proficiency with EMR/EHR and PC use is preferred; travel to other clinics may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year experience as Medical Assistant or MA certification.
• Experience with EMR/EHR preferred.
• Experience in a primary health care setting preferred.
• Knowledge of personal computers.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association).
• Travel to other clinic sites as needed.
• Hours/locations may change.

Responsibilities

• Assists with day-to-day front and back office operations.
• Administers injections and assists with EKGs and related care.
• Obtains medical history and vital signs; documents quality metrics.
• Maintains inventory of supplies; ensures equipment calibration.
• Registers patients; verifies insurance and posts encounters.
• Performs end-of-day reconciliation and cash handling tasks.
• Prepares for next day by scheduling and chart prep.
• Provides customer service and supports other departments.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
