Job summary

CommuniCare Health Centers (Texas) is seeking a Medical Assistant to perform front and back office duties and support services under general supervision. You will assist with referrals, injections, EKGs, and patient communication in a primary care setting.

Responsibilities include patient intake, vital signs, chart prep, audits, inventory management, and end-of-day reconciliation. Travel to other clinic sites may be required; BLS certification and computer literacy are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of Medical Assistant experience or MA diploma/certification.
• EMR/EHR experience preferred; experience in primary health care setting preferred.
• Computer literacy required; BLS certification required (American Heart Association).
• Willingness to travel to other clinic sites.
• Hours/locations subject to change.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day front and back office operations; coordinate referrals and patient communication.
• Administer injections and assist with non-invasive patient care procedures (EKG, screenings).
• Record patient history, vital signs, and ensure quality metrics and audits are completed.
• Maintain inventory of medical supplies and ensure equipment calibration and cleanliness.
• Register patients, update demographics and insurance, and post encounter data.
• Complete end-of-day reconciliation and secure cash deposits.
