Job summary

CommuniCare is seeking a Medical Assistant to support both front and back office duties in a busy Texas clinic. Under general supervision, you will perform MA tasks, coordinate referrals, and communicate with patients to ensure timely care.

The role requires a high school diploma, MA certification or diploma, BLS, EMR experience, and the ability to travel to other clinic sites. You will handle patient check-in, data entry, basic procedures, and daily reconciliations with a focus on quality care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum one year experience as a Medical Assistant and/or a Medical Assistant Diploma and/or a Medical Assistant Certification.
• Experience with EMR/EHR preferred.
• Experience in a primary health care setting preferred.
• Knowledgeable of personal computers.
• Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), American Heart Association.
• Ability to travel to other clinic sites as needed.
• Scheduled hours and/or work locations are subject to change.

Responsibilities

• Assists with day-to-day front and back office operations and referrals coordination.
• Administers injections and assists with non-invasive patient care procedures.
• Obtains patient history, vitals, and documents quality metrics for audits.
• Maintains inventory of medical supplies and ensures equipment is calibrated and cleaned.
• Registers patients, updates demographics, and verifies insurance plans.
• Performs end-of-day reconciliations of cash and deposits.
• Prepares for next day clinic by pre-registration and chart preparation.
• Provides exceptional customer service and addresses concerns.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
