Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year experience as Medical Assistant or MA Diploma/Certification.
• EMR/EHR experience preferred.
• Experience in a primary health care setting preferred.
• Basic computer literacy required.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association) required.
• Ability to travel to other clinic sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assists with front and back office operations; coordinates referrals and patient communication.
• Administers injections and assists with EKGs, screenings, and basic procedures.
• Obtains medical history and vital signs; documents in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Maintains inventory and ensures equipment is calibrated, charged, and cleaned.
• Registers patients, updates demographics, and activates insurance plans as needed.
• Performs end-of-day reconciliation and ensures cash handling security.
• Prepares for next day by reviewing appointments and pre-registering patients.
• Provides excellent customer service and assists other departments as needed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
