Beth Israel Lahey Health (BILH) is seeking a Patient Service Center Phlebotomist to join our growing team. You will perform specimen collections, welcome patients, and be the face and voice of the BILH Laboratories in primary care settings.

The role includes entering or updating demographics and test orders in the BILH system, collecting specimens, and preparing them for transport. Travel to additional centers may be required; a strong customer service mindset and attention to detail are

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree welcomed.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently or within a team.
• Comfort with basic computer applications.
• Phlebotomy certification from ASCP or equivalent preferred.
• Experience as a phlebotomist and in lab Patient Service Centers preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide phlebotomy and related services for all patients with high quality and courtesy.
• Validate or enter patient demographics, insurance, and test orders into the BILH system.
• Collect specimens via venipuncture or capillary methods for all ages.
• Prepare specimens for transport to the BILH laboratory.
• Support administrative tasks to open/close the Patient Service Center daily.
• Assist in training and mentoring PSC Phlebotomists; travel to other sites as needed.
• Read and comply with departmental policies and procedures.
