Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health, Inc. is seeking a Patient Service Center Phlebotomist to perform specimen collections and provide exceptional customer service in a patient-facing role.

You will operate within a PSC or physician office setting in Massachusetts, collecting specimens and entering demographic and order information. Responsibilities include venipuncture, specimen preparation for transport, and participation in QA programs, with occasional travel to other centers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with additional education welcomed.
• Phlebotomy certification from ASCP or equivalent preferred.
• Previous phlebotomy experience in patient service centers preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy using venipuncture and capillary techniques for all ages.
• Validate or update patient demographics in the BILH system.
• Enter patient information and lab orders accurately into the system.
• Prepare specimens for transport to the BILH laboratory.
• Open, operate, and close the PSC daily; assist with training as needed.
• Travel to additional PSCs and doctor offices as required.
• Adhere to departmental policies; participate in QA and ongoing education.
