Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Phlebotomist to join the Patient Service Center team. You will perform specimen collections, provide excellent customer service, and be the face and voice of the BILH Laboratories to patients in our primary care and medical office sites in Massachusetts.

Responsibilities include collecting specimens by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all ages, entering patient demographics and orders into the BILH system, and supporting PSC daily operations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; associate degree welcomed.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred (ASCP or equivalent).
• Experience in Patient Service Centers preferred.
• Strong communication and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently or in a team; basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide phlebotomy and related services for all patients.
• Validate or enter patient demographics, insurance, and orders in the system.
• Collect specimens by venipuncture and capillary methods for all ages.
• Prepare specimens for transport to the laboratory.
• Perform daily PSC clerical duties to open/close the center.
• Assist Phlebotomy Supervisor with training and coaching PSC staff.
• Travel to additional PSC and doctor sites as needed.
• Follow departmental policies and procedures.
• Participate in QA, competency assessments, and continuing education.
• Aim to provide high patient satisfaction with service quality.
