Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Phlebotomist to provide phlebotomy and related services in a Patient Service Center. You will collect specimens, verify patient data, and ensure accurate entry of information into the BILH system while delivering outstanding customer service to patients and providers.

The role involves travel between PSCs and doctor offices, training support from the Phlebotomy Supervisor, and adherence to departmental policies to maintain high patient satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; associate degree welcomed.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong accuracy.
• Ability to work independently or in a team.
• Phlebotomy certification from ASCP preferred.
• Experience in Patient Service Centers preferred.
• One or more years experience in lab PSC preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent phlebotomy and related services for all patients.
• Validate or update patient demographics and insurance in the BILH system.
• Collect specimens by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all ages.
• Prepare specimens for transport to the BILH laboratory.
• Perform administrative duties to open/close the PSC daily.
• Assist in training, coaching, and mentoring PSC Phlebotomists.
• Travel to additional PSC and doctor's office sites as needed.
• Adhere to departmental policies and procedures.
• Report to the Phlebotomy Supervisor.
