Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking a Project Manager to lead assigned Data Center construction projects, overseeing planning, execution, and profitability while ensuring safety and quality. The role requires driving project plans, budgets, and schedules, coordinating with subs and owners, and delivering on milestones.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years in data center PM, strong negotiation and communication skills, and a PE is preferred. A driving license and ethical, team-focused approach are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management or related field.
• Minimum four years of project management experience within Data Center Construction.
• Valid driver's license with good driving record.
• In-depth knowledge of commercial construction processes.
• Understanding estimating concepts for bids and change orders.
• Familiarity with building codes and design requirements.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the project team in preparing the PMP.
• Prepare project budgets and unit cost reports.
• Negotiate owner and subcontractor change orders.
• Coordinate permits and regulatory requirements.
• Develop project schedule and milestones with the project superintendent.
• Manage materials and equipment procurement within budget and schedule.
• Develop and monitor quality, safety, and risk management plans.
• Submit monthly client pay requests and manage collections.
