Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking a Project Manager to oversee planning, management, and execution of construction projects. You will maximize profitability, ensure quality and safety, and meet owner expectations, possibly handling multiple projects.

Responsibilities include budget development, bid verification, subcontract coordination, and closeout procedures, with strong emphasis on cost control, scheduling, and risk management across the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management or related field or equivalent education/experience.
• Minimum of four or more years project management experience within Data Center Construction.
• Valid driver's license and a good driving record.
• In-depth knowledge of commercial construction processes.
• Understanding estimating concepts to verify bids, understand market rates, and process change orders.
• Knowledge of construction laws, codes, and contract language.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of estimates for the project.
• Prepare project budgets and unit cost reports.
• Lead the project team in preparing the project management plan (PMP).
• Participate in value engineering and pre-award/pre-construction meetings.
• Negotiate and prepare project subcontracts; obtain permits as needed.
• Develop project schedule and milestones with the project superintendent.
