Job summary

FiberTel, LLC is seeking Travel CDL Construction Worker/Laborers for our Portland location with sites in OR, WA, and ID. The role supports all phases of telecom construction, performing general labor and maintenance on underground cabling.

The position is travel‑heavy, outdoor, and hourly with pay $20–$27 per hour plus daily per diem and travel accommodations. Candidates should be able to work in various weather conditions and terrains.

Qualifications

• Pre-employment drug screen and background check required.
• Valid driver’s license or willingness to obtain one.
• Good driving record.
• Basic knowledge of and ability to operate utility trucks and equipment safely.
• CDL is a plus (higher wage scales apply to CDL holders).

Responsibilities

• Hand dig using a shovel or mechanical tools.
• Install and maintain underground telecom cabling.
• Operate or work around heavy equipment and machinery.
• Work in congested or remote areas.
• Maintain contact with crew and ensure safe movement.
• Perform general construction work under Foreman/Supervisor.
• Maintain safe working habits according to regulations.
• Assist operator and foreman as assigned.
• Set up, preparation, and cleanup of construction sites.
• Develop understanding of buried utilities.
• Lift heavy equipment and supplies.
