Job summary

TDS Telecommunications LLC in Bend, OR is hiring a Fiber Construction Technician to support outside plant fiber networks. You will help install buried and aerial fiber, learn safety training, and potentially obtain a Class A CDL through our in-house program.

Responsibilities include general construction labor, transporting equipment, and assisting with fiber placement and testing. Some travel and overtime may be required; weather and site conditions vary daily.

Qualifications

• 6+ months experience in customer service, electrical or utility construction, or alternative qualifying paths (military service or technical certification).
• Must follow attendance guidelines and maintain a valid driver’s license with DOT eligibility.
• Ability to obtain Class A CDL; in-house CDL training/certification may be provided.

Responsibilities

• Perform general construction labor in varying weather with safety as a priority.
• Assist with transporting equipment to/from the worksite and with placing new fiber according to plans and locate markings.
• Climb poles, ladders, and operate bucket trucks as needed; assist with fiber splicing and outside plant maintenance.
