Job summary

Hawthorne Health, a leading clinical research support network, seeks dual-credentialed Cardiac and Vascular Sonographers for a per diem, 1099 role. You will travel regionally to patient homes to perform in-home cardiac and vascular imaging visits, with travel expenses reimbursed per visit.

Rates are $450–$600 per day, per-visit compensation. Requirements include active RDCS or RVT/RVS credentials, BLS, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work independently in field settings.

Qualifications

• Active registration in cardiac imaging (RDCS/RCS) and vascular imaging (RVT/RVS) per ARDMS/CCI.
• BLS certification.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; willingness to travel regionally.
• Access to personal computer and reliable internet; comfortable with digital tools.
• Ability to work independently in non-traditional settings.
• Excellent patient communication and bedside manner.
• Adaptability in dynamic field environments.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Travel locally or regionally to patient homes to conduct visits.
• Transport and set up portable ultrasound equipment.
• Explain procedures and obtain informed cooperation from participants.
• Perform echocardiograms and vascular imaging per protocol.
• Monitor patient comfort and safety during imaging.
• Follow sponsor and protocol-specific imaging guidelines.
• Ensure accurate image acquisition and proper labeling for review.
• Complete preliminary report with measurements and sonographer comments.
• Maintain high-quality standards per ASE guidelines.
• Perform basic troubleshooting of imaging equipment.
