Job summary

Hawthorne Health is seeking dual-credentialed Cardiac and Vascular Sonographers to work per diem as independent contractors. You will travel regionally to patient homes, perform echocardiograms and vascular imaging, and prepare preliminary reports.

This role requires active RDCS/RCS and RVT/RVS credentials, BLS, and a valid driver’s license with flexibility for travel. Compensation is on a per-visit basis ($450–$600 per day), with travel expenses reimbursed as needed.

Qualifications

• Active registration in both cardiac and vascular imaging (e.g. RDCS/RCS and RVT/RVS).
• BLS certification.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Excellent patient communication and bedside manner.

Responsibilities

• Travel to patient homes locally or across state lines to conduct visits.
• Transport and set up portable ultrasound equipment.
• Explain procedures and obtain informed cooperation from participant.
• Perform echocardiograms and vascular imaging per protocol.
• Monitor patient comfort and safety during imaging.
• Follow sponsor and protocol-specific imaging guidelines.
• Ensure accurate image acquisition and proper labeling for cardiology review.
• Complete preliminary report with measurements and sonographer comments.
• Maintain high-quality standards consistent with ASE Standards.
• Perform basic troubleshooting of imaging equipment.
