Job summary

Hawthorne Health is expanding its Home Network and seeking dual-credentialed Cardiac and Vascular Sonographers to work per diem as independent contractors. You will travel regionally—local or across state lines—to perform in-home cardiac and vascular imaging visits using portable ultrasound equipment.

Qualifications

• Active registration in both cardiac and vascular imaging (e.g. RDCS/RCS with RVT/RVS through ARDMS/CCI).
• Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; willingness to travel locally/regionally.
• Access to a personal computer and reliable internet; tech savvy with digital tools.
• Ability to work independently in non-traditional settings.
• Excellent patient communication and bedside manner.
• Adaptability in dynamic, field-based environments.
• Time management and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Travel locally or across state lines to patient homes for visits; volume varies by region.
• Transport and set up portable ultrasound equipment.
• Explain procedures and obtain informed cooperation from participant.
• Perform echocardiograms and vascular imaging per protocol.
• Monitor patient comfort and safety during imaging.
• Follow sponsor and protocol-specific imaging guidelines.
• Ensure accurate image acquisition and labeling for cardiology review.
• Complete preliminary report with measurements and sonographer comments.
• Maintain high-quality standards consistent with ASE Standards.
• Perform basic troubleshooting of imaging equipment.
