Job summary

Covenant House New Jersey is seeking a Street Outreach Specialist II to engage youth and young adults across five New Jersey counties. You will conduct face-to-face outreach, provide essential services, assess needs, and connect youth to shelter and housing resources in a trauma-informed PYD framework.

The role requires field work, driving agency vehicles, strong engagement skills, and the ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and evenings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in youth services or related field.

Responsibilities

• Conduct street outreach across five-county area on a published schedule.
• Provide access to emergency shelter and safe housing 24/7.
• Deliver basic needs and safety information during outreach.
• Enter accurate data into RHY-HMIS and other systems.
• Coordinate with law enforcement and social services.
• Support youth toward permanency including family reunification where appropriate.
