Job summary

The Family Place in Dallas, Texas, is seeking a Child Care Provider to support children in our shelter by delivering nurturing, trauma-informed care and developmentally appropriate activities. You will guide daily routines, teach foundational skills, and maintain secure documentation of each child’s progress as part of our supportive care team.

Collaborating with the Program Director and child care assistants, you will ensure a stable, healing environment, communicate with families

Qualifications

• Experience implementing trauma-informed care in early childhood settings.
• Background in early childhood education or child development.
• Ability to maintain developmental observation records and portfolios.
• Strong communication with parents and staff.
• Collaborative teamwork with caregivers and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Provide nurturing, trauma-informed care to children in shelter.
• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities.
• Teach foundational skills and supervise daily care routines.
• Maintain a clean, safe classroom and observe progress with records.
• Document and communicate with parents about daily interactions and progress.
• Train and support volunteers and assistants on classroom policies.
