Job summary

The Family Place in Dallas, TX is hiring a Child Care Provider to deliver nurturing, trauma-informed care and developmentally appropriate early childhood education to children staying in the shelter.

You will plan activities, supervise routines, document progress, and collaborate with staff to support children’s healing and growth in a safe, stable environment.

A strong commitment to supporting vulnerable families and hands-on training in child development is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plans and implements weekly activity plans developmentally appropriate for shelter children.
• Keeps accurate observation records and portfolios to track progress.
• Teaches basic skills (colors, shapes, numbers, letters, social skills) and supervises daily care routines.
• Maintains a clean, safe, organized classroom and sanitizes toys.
• Supervises mealtime, toileting, handwashing, rest periods, and play activities.
• Supports children with daily care needs and consistent encouragement.
• Collaborates with the Program Director and child care assistants to support classroom policies.
• Completes required documentation and logs in the Integrated Tracking System.
• Participates in staff development, trainings, and required certifications.
