Job summary

The Family Place in Dallas, TX seeks a dedicated Child Care Provider to offer nurturing, trauma-informed care and early childhood education to children in our shelter. You will plan activities, support literacy and basic skills, supervise routines, and maintain a clean, safe classroom promoting healing and growth.

You'll collaborate with assistants and leadership, document progress, communicate with families, and guide volunteers on classroom policies.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in a child-related field, or AA/AS with 1 year of child care experience.
• CDA credential with 2 years of child care experience.
• Texas Driver’s License and clean driving record.
• Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification, or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• Clear TB skin test as required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement weekly activity plans that are developmentally appropriate.
• Follow Frog Street curriculum and The Family Place guidelines.
• Teach basic skills and observe children’s progress with records.
• Supervise mealtime, toileting, handwashing, and rest periods.
• Maintain a clean, safe, organized classroom and sanitize equipment.
• Document progress and maintain portfolios for each child.
• Communicate professionally with parents about daily interactions and progress.
• Provide guidance and training to assistants and volunteers on policies.
