Job summary

The Family Place seeks a dedicated Child Care Provider to deliver nurturing, trauma-informed care and early childhood education to children in shelter. You will plan activities, supervise routines, and maintain a safe, engaging classroom that supports healing and development.

Collaborating with a Program Director and staff, you will document progress, communicate with families, and guide volunteers while upholding licensing standards and mission-driven care.

Qualifications

• Trauma-informed care and early childhood development knowledge are preferred.
• Experience supporting children in shelter settings is a plus.
• Ability to implement developmentally appropriate activities and routines.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement weekly activity plans using developmentally appropriate activities.
• Follow the Frog Street curriculum and classroom guidelines.
• Teach basic skills and maintain accurate assessment records.
• Supervise care routines, including meals, toileting, and hygiene.
• Communicate with parents and program leadership about progress and concerns.
• Train and support assistants and volunteers on classroom policies.
