Job summary

The Family Place in Dallas is seeking a dedicated Child Care Provider to deliver trauma-informed, nurturing early childhood education to children staying in our shelter. You will plan developmentally appropriate activities, support daily routines, and collaborate with staff to create a safe, healing environment.

You will document children's progress, communicate with families, mentor aides and volunteers, and uphold licensing standards.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in a child-related field, or AA/AS in a child-related field + 1 year of child care experience, or CDA credential + 2 years of child care experience.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License (Licenses/Certifications).
• Knowledge of DFPS guidelines, NAC accreditation standards, and Frog Street Curriculum.

Responsibilities

• Plans and implements developmentally appropriate activity plans across indoor, outdoor, and nature-based settings.
• T each foundational skills (colors, shapes, numbers, letters, social skills) and observe progress with accurate records.
• Maintain a clean, safe, organized classroom and supervise daily routines including mealtime and toileting.
• Communicate with parents regarding daily interactions and progress, and consult leadership as needed.
• Support assistants and volunteers with classroom policies and procedures.
