Job summary
A children's health care provider in Fort Worth is seeking a Child Life Specialist to support patients and their families through education and essential life experiences. This role requires collaboration with health care providers to ensure positive adjustments throughout the health care experience. Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Child Life or a related field, complete a Child Life Internship, and obtain certification as a Child Life Specialist within one year. This position is part-time with varying shifts.
Qualifications
- Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Child Life, Child Development or a closely related field.
- Completion of Child Life Internship required.
- Certified Child Life Specialist, by exam, within one year of hire.
- American Heart Association Health Care Provider BLS required within 60 days of hire.
Responsibilities
- Provide essential life experiences, family support & education to patients and families.
- Collaborate with health care providers to promote growth and development.
- Facilitate positive adjustment for patients and families throughout the health care experience.
