Job summary

The Family Place is seeking a Child Care Provider to deliver nurturing, trauma-informed early childhood education for children in the shelter. You will plan activities, teach foundational skills, supervise daily care, and maintain a safe, engaging classroom while collaborating with staff and leadership.

You will document progress, communicate with parents, and participate in required trainings to ensure high-quality care and compliance with licensing standards.

Qualifications

• BA/BS or AA/AS with child-related focus OR CDA with experience.
• Texas Driver’s License and Pediatric CPR/First Aid certifications required or obtained within 90 days.
• Experience with licensing standards and child development preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement weekly activity plans (indoor/outdoor) fostering imaginative play.
• Maintain classroom structure following Frog Street curriculum and guidelines.
• Teach basic skills (colors, shapes, numbers, letters) and track progress with portfolios.
• Supervise daily care, meals, toileting, and safety; sanitize and organize classroom.
