Job summary

KEYS Academy, supported by Health Connect America, seeks a licensed Special Education teacher to lead a trauma-informed classroom in Virginia. You will design and deliver SOL-aligned instruction, support communication skills and social-emotional development, and implement data-driven instruction within a small, structured setting.

You will collaborate with families, staff, and related service providers to ensure progress on IEP goals and provide clear feedback and progress reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education; Special Education licensure (VA) is required.
• Endorsement in Emotional Disabilities or SPED related area is required or candidate to pursue one.
• Strong knowledge of SOLs, IEPs, and data-driven instruction.
• Experience delivering trauma-informed, structured instruction in small groups.

Responsibilities

• Lead a structured, trauma-informed classroom designed to support safety and dignity.
• Deliver Virginia Standards of Learning-aligned instruction and support communication and social development.
• Design individualized instruction aligned to each student’s IEP goals and KEYS framework.
• Collaborate with families, LEA representatives, and related service providers to support student success.
• Maintain accurate progress documentation and participate in IEP meetings.
