Job summary

KEYS Academy, supported by Health Connect America, seeks a licensed Special Education teacher to lead a trauma-informed classroom in a Virginia private day school network. You will deliver instruction aligned to the Virginia SOLs and individual IEP goals, while supporting students’ communication, social development and emotional regulation.

Under the School Director's guidance, you will design individualized instruction, maintain accurate records, participate in IEP meetings, and collaborate

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required.
• Active Virginia teaching license in Special Education required (license eligible candidates accepted).
• Endorsement in Emotional Disabilities (ED) or related SPED endorsement required.
• Must maintain licensure and required certifications throughout employment.

Responsibilities

• Lead a structured, trauma-informed classroom delivering instruction aligned to SOLs and IEP goals.
• Differentiate instruction to meet varied academic, behavioral, communication, and sensory needs.
• Develop Present Levels of Performance and baselines for students; monitor progress.
• Attend IEP meetings and collaborate with families and related service providers.
• Maintain accurate attendance, progress reports and required documentation.
