Job summary

KEYS Academy, supported by Health Connect America, seeks a licensed Special Education teacher to lead a small, trauma-informed classroom serving students with emotional, behavioral, and developmental needs in Virginia. You will design individualized instruction aligned to IEP goals and implement KEYS for a Big Life Curriculum daily.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required and Virginia teaching license in Special Education.
• Endorsement in Emotional Disabilities or related SPED endorsement required; licensure must be maintained.
• Experience with data-driven instruction and demonstrated ability to implement SOL-aligned content.

Responsibilities

• Lead a trauma-informed classroom aligned to SOLs and IEP goals.
• Differentiate instruction for diverse learning, behavioral, and sensory needs.
• Implement evidence-based strategies: scaffolding, social-emotional supports, and positive behavior supports.
• Integrate KEYS for a Big Life Curriculum and Social Thinking into daily instruction.
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals, administrators, and families to support student success.
• Maintain accurate attendance, grades, and progress reports.
• Attend IEP meetings and participate in parent-teacher conferences.
