Job summary

KEYS Academy, supported by Health Connect America, Inc., seeks a dedicated Special Education teacher in Virginia to deliver structured, trauma-informed instruction aligned with SOLs and students’ IEP goals. You will integrate the KEYS for a Big Life Curriculum and Social Thinking into daily lessons.

You will work with students with emotional, behavioral, and developmental needs in a small classroom setting, collaborating with the School Director, families, and support staff to promote academic

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education and teaching license.
• Endorsement in Emotional Disabilities or SPED endorsement required; license eligible candidates accepted.
• Experience with SOL-aligned instruction and IEP goals is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead a structured, trauma-informed classroom aligned to SOLs.
• Differentiate instruction for varied academic and behavioral needs.
• Implement evidence-based strategies: scaffolding, SEL supports, and positive behavioral supports.
• Deliver instruction integrated with KEYS for a Big Life Curriculum and Social Thinking.
• Maintain a structured master classroom schedule and collaborate with support staff.
• Document student progress, attendance, and required reports.
