Job summary

KEYS Academy, supported by Health Connect America, Inc., seeks a licensed Special Education teacher to deliver trauma-informed instruction aligned with Virginia SOLs and each student’s IEP goals.

You will design individualized instruction under the School Director, using KEYS for a Big Life Curriculum and Social Thinking framework to promote safety, dignity, and opportunity in every interaction.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia teaching license in Special Education required.
• Endorsement in Emotional Disabilities (ED) or Special Education General Curriculum required; willingness to pursue SPED endorsement.
• Must maintain licensure and required certifications.
• Experience with behavior supports and IEP processes is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead a structured, trauma-informed classroom aligned to SOLs and IEP goals.
• Differentiate instruction to meet varied needs and provide data-driven instruction.
• Serve as case manager for assigned students and participate in IEP meetings.
• Collaborate with families, LEA, and related services to support student success.
• Implement KEYS for a Big Life Curriculum and Social Thinking in daily instruction.
