Job summary

KEYS Academy, supported by Health Connect America, seeks a licensed Special Education teacher to lead a structured trauma-informed classroom. You will implement instruction aligned to Virginia SOLs, support students with emotional and developmental needs, and deliver individualized IEP-based planning in a small setting.

Under the School Director, you will develop annual goals, collaborate with families and related staff, manage data, and ensure compliance with state requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required.
• Active Virginia teaching license in Special Education required (license eligible candidates accepted).
• Endorsement in Emotional Disabilities (ED), Special Education General Curriculum K–12, or related SPED endorsement required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver lesson plans aligned to SOLs and IEP goals.
• Differentiate instruction for varied academic, behavioral, communication, and sensory needs.
• Lead a structured trauma-informed classroom and implement evidence-based strategies.
• Collaborate with families and staff to support student progress.
