Job summary

The Village for Families & Children in Hartford, CT is seeking a Shift Supervisor to coordinate daily operations on 1st and 2nd shifts at Eagle House, a 24‑bed psychiatric residential treatment facility.

You will ensure staffing, supervise staff, respond to crises, document care, and support trauma‑informed practices while upholding safety and compliance.

Starting at $24/hour with nighttime differential, benefits include tuition reimbursement and staff development opportunities.

Qualifications

• High‑school diploma required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Experience in human services or working with children with special needs preferred.
• Knowledge of child development and the impact of trauma.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong cultural competence.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate shift operations by ensuring appropriate staffing, schedule coverage, and equipment.
• Monitor daily program activities including admissions, discharges, transportation, and school transitions.
• Maintain supervision and coaching of staff while promoting therapeutic interactions with youth.
• Respond to crises and coordinate emergency responses as shift leader.
• Ensure compliance with policies, safety protocols, and regulatory standards.
• Oversee routine client care tasks and end-of-shift debriefings.
