Job summary

The People Concern in Los Angeles is seeking a Support Specialist for the Palm Motel site in Santa Monica. This part-time, non-exempt role offers a Friday–Monday, 1pm–7:30pm schedule to support shelter operations and client needs in a trauma-informed framework.

You will monitor floors, assist with daily tasks, document incidents, facilitate client engagement, and collaborate with staff to promote stability and safety for residents.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to communicate with clients effectively.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Act as the first point-of-contact for all immediate client needs and requests.
• Monitor the floor and maintain safety and cleanliness of communal areas and dorms.
• Be visible on the floor and actively engage clients.
• Conduct regular facility walk-throughs and ensure adherence to program guidelines.
• Document incidents and update shift logs in HMIS as needed.
