Job summary

Fort Bend Women’s Center is seeking an Operations Advocate Lead in Richmond, TX to provide day-to-day leadership and operational support within our Emergency Shelter. This hands-on role supervises the OA team and guides staff through routine operations, crises, and safety procedures.

The position focuses on survivor-centered care, staff development, and ensuring 24/7 shelter coverage with a flexible weekend/evening schedule to meet shelter needs.

Qualifications

• Supervise, coach, and support Operations Advocates, including onboarding, training, mentoring, and performance feedback.
• Provide day-to-day direction and guidance to staff to ensure high-quality services.
• Help ensure 24/7 shelter coverage, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily shelter operations to promote a safe, welcoming, organized environment.
• Monitor safety procedures and required safety checks.
• Respond to emergencies and guide staff through de-escalation and response procedures.
• Coordinate room turnovers, inventories, and basic facility needs.
• Identify operational concerns and communicate needs to shelter leadership.
• Maintain compliance with organizational policies and program requirements.
• Assist with maintaining a clean, organized shelter environment.
• Model survivor-centered interactions with clients.
• Support staff in responding to client needs and conflicts.
• Assist with crisis intervention and problem-solving as needed.
