Job summary

Fort Bend Women’s Center is seeking Weekend Operations Advocates to support shelter operations and client services. Two shift options are available: Saturday–Sunday 7:00 AM–4:00 PM or 1:00 PM–9:30 PM, in-person across Greater Fort Bend and Harris County areas. Training schedules may vary, and a background/driver checks are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework preferred.
• Minimum of one year of experience in a shelter setting.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License and required automobile insurance.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook and Excel.
• Experience with data entry, documentation, electronic records, and scheduling systems.
• Availability to work weekends and accommodate a varying training schedule.
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide client support and crisis intervention with a survivor-centered approach.
• Assist with shelter operations and maintain a safe, welcoming environment.
• Perform administrative tasks and maintain shelter logs and documentation.
• Respond to emails, handle donations inquiries, and update client information systems.
• Participate in weekly team meetings and effective shift handoffs.
