Job summary

Compass Housing Alliance in Seattle is seeking a Program Assistant to support guests, residents, and staff in a trauma-informed way. You will monitor activity, assist with meals and laundry, and respond to issues to maintain a safe, respectful environment.

The role emphasizes de-escalation, confidentiality, and collaboration with the program team to help individuals move toward stability. The position is unionized (OPEIU Local 8) and requires onsite work in Pioneer Square, with a Thursday-Monday

Qualifications

• Provide trauma-informed monitoring of activity to ensure safety and comfort.
• Mediates conflicts and provides de-escalation and crisis intervention.
• Assist in support of program activities including meals and laundry support.
• Engage guests/residents/participants to assess needs and provide referrals.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Monitor building security cameras and perform rounds.
• Log incidents and report to Program Coordinator/Manager.
• Control after-hours front door access and enforce rules.
• Follow safety procedures and complete light janitorial duties.
• Work with program staff to ensure supplies and equipment are stocked.
