Job summary

Compass Housing Alliance in Seattle is seeking a Program Assistant for Blaine Veterans Center to observe, record, and respond to the comings and goings of guests, residents, and staff while maintaining a safe environment. You will be part of the program services team and support trauma-informed assistance.

This unionized role is represented by OPEIU Local 8, with a Saturday-Sunday 8am-4pm schedule and a salary of $25.24 per hour with potential increases; full-time benefits include

Qualifications

• Experience in a social/human service setting is preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English.
• Familiarity with trauma-informed care and de-escalation strategies.

Responsibilities

• Provide trauma-informed monitoring of activity in and around the building to ensure safety, security, and comfort.
• Mediate conflicts and provide de-escalation and crisis intervention.
• Assist in supporting program activities, including meals and group activities.
• Engage guests to assess needs and provide information and referrals.
• Respond to issues as directed by management.
• Log actions, incidents, and report to Program Coordinator/Manager.
• Control after-hours front door access and enforce rules.
• Follow safety and emergency procedures.
• Perform light janitorial duties as assigned.
