Job summary

Lutheran Community Services Northwest, through Compass Housing Alliance, seeks a Program Assistant to help provide trauma-informed support to guests and residents at Otto’s Place Enhanced Shelter in Seattle. You will assist with meals, activities, and housing navigation while maintaining safety and confidentiality.

The role requires empathetic communication, ability to work in a fast-paced shelter environment, and collaboration with a diverse team to connect guests with essential services.

Qualifications

• Experience in trauma-informed care and crisis intervention.
• Familiarity with housing instability and related services.
• Fluent reading/writing in English.

Responsibilities

• Provide trauma-informed monitoring to ensure guest safety and comfort.
• Mediate conflicts and perform de-escalation and crisis intervention.
• Support program activities including meals, laundry, and groups.
• Assess needs and refer to appropriate services.
• Report building needs and ensure supplies are stocked.
• Monitor security and enforce building policies.
